The community of Park Forest Elementary suffered a great loss when Mack Brady, a third grade student, passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 2012, just 16 days short of his 9th birthday. He attended our elementary school from Kindergarten age.  Mack exuded a cheerful, good natured and inquisitive personality.

Mack and his friends spent many recesses building teepee structures in the wooded areas surrounding our playing fields.  In memory of his life, the students and community of Park Forest raised funds to purchase a teepee shaped climbing apparatus for our schoolyard playground. In June of 2013, the students, teachers, families, and friends organized and held a Family Adventure Night to honor Mack’s memory and to raise funds. After many months of anticipation, Mack’s Teepee was dedicated in October of 2013 with a tremendous turnout of families from the Park Forest Community.  The Park Forest Elementary PTO was very supportive in this endeavor.
